Position Summary

The Scrum Master will support Agile software development and project delivery activities for the M&O Services for DSS Application Systems project. This position is responsible for facilitating Scrum processes, coordinating sprint activities, supporting project planning and delivery, and promoting effective collaboration among technical and business teams.

The Scrum Master will work closely with product owners, developers, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure Agile practices are followed, project priorities are understood, and sprint commitments and deliverables are effectively managed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as Scrum Master for assigned Agile development teams and projects.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate and support sprint planning, execution, and delivery activities.
  • Assist teams in establishing sprint goals, identifying priorities, and managing sprint commitments.
  • Track sprint progress, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and impediments.
  • Identify and help remove obstacles that may affect team productivity or sprint delivery.
  • Support project management activities, including planning, scheduling, coordination, risk management, and status reporting.
  • Promote and reinforce Scrum and Agile development methodologies across project teams.
  • Work with product owners and project stakeholders to maintain and prioritize product and sprint backlogs.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among development teams, business stakeholders, and project leadership.
  • Support functional business analysis activities to help clarify business requirements, processes, and project objectives.
  • Assist with translating business needs into actionable requirements, user stories, and development activities.
  • Monitor sprint performance and support continuous improvement of team processes and delivery practices.
  • Facilitate discussions regarding project scope, requirements, priorities, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
  • Support resolution and escalation of project risks, issues, and resource constraints as appropriate.
  • Maintain project and Agile documentation, including sprint plans, meeting records, action items, status reports, and other project artifacts.
  • Provide visibility into sprint progress, project status, risks, and upcoming deliverables.
  • Encourage team accountability, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Support adherence to established project management, Agile, software development, and quality assurance processes.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience with demonstrated experience in the following areas:
