Job Description
We are seeking a talented Mobile App Developer with Kotlin expertise to join our growing mobile development team. As mobile-first solutions become increasingly critical to our client delivery, we need a skilled developer who can design, build, and maintain high-quality Android applications and contribute to cross-platform development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects across consulting environments, leveraging Kotlin Multiplatform to expand reach and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust Android applications using Kotlin, following best practices and architectural patterns
- Implement and maintain Firebase services
- Develop and maintain cross-platform solutions using Kotlin Multiplatform, maximizing code reusability across platforms
- Enhance and optimize existing mobile solutions, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing technical enhancements
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend developers to translate requirements into scalable mobile solutions
- Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive testing and documentation
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of our development processes
- Support clients in understanding mobile best practices and GDS service standards where applicable
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, optimizing app performance and user experience
- Contribute to architectural decisions and evaluate emerging technologies
Qualifications
Essential:
- Proven experience developing production Android applications with Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform development
- Hands-on experience with Google Firebase
- Experience enhancing and optimizing existing mobile solutions
- Strong understanding of mobile development principles and UI/UX considerations
Desirable:
- Familiarity with GDS Service Standard and government digital services
- Background working in consultancy or client-facing environments
