The Software Engineer C++ will be part of the software team within the Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGT-D) Software R&D group, based in Plymouth, MN. In this role, you will contribute to the development, analysis, validation, and documentation of data-driven and machine-learning-enabled workflows for clinical imaging software within the Azurion Eye program, collaborating with AI/ML engineers, software engineers, product owners, testers, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve clinical workflows and efficiency.

What is the Azurion Eye program? It advances Philips’ strategy to embed AI into clinical workflows by combining clinical intelligence, computer vision, predictive analytics, and AI-powered orchestration. The platform helps clinicians make faster, better-informed decisions, improve procedural efficiency through intuitive tableside control, and enhance patient safety with precision imaging and reduced radiation exposure, including in-room 3D CT-like imaging for stroke care.

Your role:

• Work closely with Product Owner, Senior Software Engineers to translate software requirements to clinical imaging application features using good design principles. You will also leverage your C++ software development background to implement new features that are high quality and meet real time performance constraints.
• Responsible for ensuring newly developed code is scanned by static code analysis tools, and peer reviewed before integrating to the existing software application, while creating and maintaining Software Design Description (SDD) documents to capture the software design at the right level detail.
• Perform development testing (unit testing and any manual testing as necessary) to verify that the implementation successfully satisfies user requirements and functions correctly even on edge case scenarios. In addition, you will adhere to Philips Agile QMS (Quality Management System) processes and procedures and create documentation to satisfy regulatory requirements.

• You’ve acquired 2+ years of experience in software development, embedded software experience using C++

• Your skills include experience with desktop applications and UI frameworks such as Qt; development tools such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git; build and DevOps tools such as CMake, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions; agile software development environments such as Scrum and Kanban; and regulatory standards including IEC 62304, IEC 82304, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971.

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

• You’re an excellent communicator who works effectively across matrixed organizations, comfortable partnering closely with key stakeholders, and global software development teams.

How we work together 

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details  

The pay range for this position in Plymouth, Minnesota is $121,000 to $192,000. 

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.     

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives, may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.  For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Plymouth, Minnesota.
