Senior .Net Developer

AVER is seeking a Senior .Net Developer to support a highly controlled and security-sensitive government environment. The position focuses on analyzing incoming provider data, preparing the data for import into SQL Server, and overseeing a repeatable process for developing C# Windows Services that load approved data into the database. Incoming data may be provided in a variety of formats, including CSV, Microsoft Excel (XLS/XLSX), HTML, and other structured or semi-structured formats. Excel workbooks may contain multiple worksheets with different structures. The successful candidate does not need extensive experience with cloud platforms, modern web development, or complex application architecture. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, working knowledge of C# and SQL, attention to detail, and the ability to provide technical direction to other developers.

Responsibilities Include:

• Analyze incoming provider files and determine their structure, fields, data types, and relationships.
• Identify potential data-quality or structural issues requiring clarification.
• Determine how source data should be converted into the client’s required CSV format.
• Convert Excel, HTML, and other supported source data into the required CSV format.
• Develop proposed SQL Server table structures for client review and approval.
• Review incoming provider data files and understand their basic structure.
• Examine columns, sample values, data types, and potential data-quality issues.
• Create approved SQL Server table and ensure they are created according to approved designs.
• Use an established .NET Framework 4.8 Windows Service as the template for new data-loading services.
• Configure and modify C# services to process approved CSV files and bulk load data into SQL Server
• Configure services to bulk load CSV data into designated SQL Server tables
• Validate source data, converted CSV files, and database results
• Handle more complex or unusual provider datasets and troubleshooting difficult issues
• Maintain consistency across services, database structures, documentation, and development practices
• Ensure developers follow established client procedures and technology restrictions
• Work within the approved architecture rather than introducing unnecessary technologies or redesigning established processes

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent practical technical experience, subject to contractual requirements

 Experience Requirements:

• Senior Application Developer with 8+ years of technical analysis experience with  3–5 years of relevant software development, SQL, or data-processing experience preferred, but demonstrated ability is more important than a specific number of years
• Experience with C#, .NET Framework 4.8, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio, Windows Services, Windows Server, Client-approved libraries and NuGet packages
• Working knowledge of Microsoft .NET Framework
• Working knowledge of SQL/T-SQL
• Ability to create and modify SQL Server tables
• Ability to determine appropriate SQL data types from source data
• Experience working with CSV, Excel, or other structured data files
• Strong data-analysis and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify data inconsistencies and know when additional clarification is required
• Ability to troubleshoot basic application and data-loading issues
• Ability to review another developer’s work and provide clear technical guidance
• Knowledge of Public cloud services and common external development platforms are not part of the development process. Developers must work within the tools, architecture, and procedures approved by the client.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures

Location:

• Washington, DC
• On site 5 days a week
