Software Engineer (Mid-level to Staff+)

About the Role

This is a hands-on individual contributor engineering role at an early-stage AI platform startup, where you'll help build the core product, platform, and AI infrastructure that lets businesses run on autonomous agents. The team is small and the problems are broad, so your work will have direct and visible impact on what gets shipped.

What You'll Do

• Build user-facing product experiences across web and mobile, making agent interactions feel simple, fast, and trustworthy.

• Invent clear UI patterns for delegating work to agents, tracking progress, handling uncertainty, and surfacing results.

• Own features end to end, from early product thinking through polished, production-grade software.

• Build and maintain backend APIs and services powering identity, workspaces, permissions, billing, payments, and analytics.

• Develop connector, authentication, webhook, and automation infrastructure for third-party integrations.

• Build the agent harness, context management, execution environment, and related AI infrastructure.

• Work across model serving, distributed systems, databases, Kubernetes, networking, and cloud infrastructure as problems demand.

• Own systems in production and continuously improve their correctness, security, reliability, and operational simplicity.

What We're Looking For

• 3 or more years building and shipping production systems at a strong tech company or well-regarded startup.

• Production experience with TypeScript across both Node.js backend and React frontend.

• Hands-on experience with GCP and Docker, including owning deployments and debugging at the container and Linux level.

• Currently writing code daily as an individual contributor.

• Strong computer science fundamentals, ideally from a rigorous undergraduate CS program.

• Ability to discuss technical decisions clearly and succinctly.

• Experience with core infrastructure such as databases, distributed systems, compilers, OS internals, or runtime environments is a plus.

• Founding or early-stage startup experience paired with demonstrable technical depth is a plus.

• An advanced CS degree from a competitive graduate program is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $225,000 to $425,000 USD annually, reflecting a wide band across mid-level to Staff+ seniority. Equity is expected at this stage. Visa sponsorship is not available.
