Software Engineer, AI Agents

About the Role

This is a high-impact engineering role on a small, fast-moving team building a new AI-powered product offering from the ground up. You will work directly with senior leadership to prototype and ship AI agents that help marketing and analytics teams turn data into action. The work is at the intersection of product engineering and applied AI, and your contributions will define the foundation of a major product line.

What You'll Do

• Rapidly prototype and iterate on proofs of concept to explore AI integration across data and marketing workflows.

• Architect and build production-grade LLM pipelines and data agents that answer real analytics and marketing questions using customer data.

• Make key decisions on AI architecture, framework selection, and when specific LLM approaches are and are not appropriate.

• Explore AI methodologies and evaluate emerging GenAI concepts for practical product application.

• Develop a deep understanding of user workflows to design seamless, AI-assisted product experiences.

• Collaborate closely with a small cross-functional team, including the CTO and COO, to define and ship features end-to-end.

What We're Looking For

• 4 or more years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on product engineering rather than research, data science, or systems work.

• Strong backend engineering skills, including API design, scalable systems architecture, and data pipeline development.

• Experience building complex AI applications well beyond simple RAG implementations or chatbots.

• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for building production backend services.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with SQL, data warehouses, and integrating with analytics platforms.

• Strong CS fundamentals from a rigorous academic program, ideally with some AI or ML coursework.

• Prior experience as an early engineer hire or founder, building products from inception through iteration.

• Product intuition and customer-centric thinking; comfort working fast and thriving in ambiguity.

• Background in B2B SaaS, analytics, or marketing technology is a plus.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship from the company.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $200,000 to $320,000 USD annually. Equity included. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.

Location

This role is open to candidates across the United States, with occasional presence expected in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidates should be located in, or willing to regularly commute to, the Bay Area as needed.
