Software Engineer (C# and .Net)

***This 6+ month contract-to-hire position offers a path to long-term employment and includes a hybrid schedule with onsite collaboration Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the West suburbs of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**

We are seeking a Software Engineer with solid experience developing and supporting enterprise applications built on the Microsoft technology stack. This role will contribute to core platform services, enterprise applications, shared libraries, and microservices that support numerous downstream systems across the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who enjoys solving technical problems and writing quality code. This individual will build and enhance features, collaborate closely with senior engineers and architects, participate in design discussions, and help the team deliver reliable, maintainable solutions. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, microservices, and shared platform components.

• Build and enhance features within core platform applications and shared NuGet packages used by downstream systems.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to implement technical designs and platform improvements.

• Consider how code changes may affect dependent applications and services, raising concerns early.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with a focus on performance and reliability.

• Participate in code reviews, technical planning sessions, and design discussions.

• Develop and maintain automated tests to support code quality and stable releases.

• Support deployments and releases by following established CI/CD and change management practices.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across interconnected enterprise systems.

• Participate in backlog refinement and help clarify requirements for Product Backlog Items (PBIs).

• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, product, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Stay current with modern .NET practices and share ideas for improvement with the team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience developing software using C# and .NET.

• Experience with modern .NET technologies, including ASP.NET Core.

• Experience developing and supporting applications in production environments.

• Working knowledge of SQL Server and Azure-based solutions.

• Exposure to microservices-based architectures.

• Understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and REST API development.

• Experience with source control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.

• Willingness to work onsite as a long-term commitment.

Nice to Have Skills

• Kubernetes experience.

• Azure Service Bus experience.

• Hangfire experience.

• Experience working on shared libraries, services, or platforms used by multiple applications.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.

• Experience in highly regulated or compliance-focused environments.
