About the Role
This role sits at the heart of a fast-moving retail trading platform, where you will own the frontend end to end, from architecture to the pixel-level details that make complex market data feel intuitive for everyday traders. You will work closely with designers and backend engineers to ship frequently and refine relentlessly, building interfaces where speed and clarity are non-negotiable.
What You'll Do
Design, build, and maintain full-featured web applications and reusable UI libraries that are fast, accessible, and scalable.
Develop high-performance, interactive charts and real-time visualizations that help users make informed trading decisions.
Optimize application speed and reliability using advanced caching strategies to achieve sub-second load times.
Integrate complex REST APIs and WebSocket streams while managing robust client-side cached state.
Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, previews, testing, and seamless rollbacks.
What We're Looking For
3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience building and shipping production React applications with TypeScript and JavaScript.
Professional experience building latency-sensitive, real-time frontend interfaces where response time is critical, such as trading platforms, gaming, or casino products.
Demonstrable interest in trading or financial markets, for example an active trading account, regular use of trading products, or personal trading-related projects.
Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the full web stack.
Solid experience with CSS and the Web Animations API (WAAPI) for performance-critical UI work.
Verifiable frontend work, whether a live product, a strong public GitHub repository, or experience at a recognizable company.
Ability to code effectively without over-reliance on AI or agentic coding tools.
Experience integrating REST APIs and WebSocket streams for real-time data is a strong plus.
Background at a trading firm or trading platform (beyond general consumer applications) is a plus.
Bootcamp or self-taught backgrounds are welcome when backed by a strong personal project portfolio.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $185,000 to $300,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Location
On-site in New York, NY. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not offered for this position.
