Trade Operations

The Role.

We’re hiring a Trade Operations Associate to help keep Onyx’s markets accurate, reliable, and moving.

This is a hands-on role at the center of the platform. You’ll work closely with trading, engineering, product, finance, compliance, and customer experience to monitor live markets, resolve issues, improve operational systems, and support accurate settlement.

Markets move in real time, and the details matter. You should be comfortable making sound decisions under pressure, investigating unusual activity, and owning an issue from the moment it appears through final resolution.

What You’ll Own:

• Monitor live markets, trading activity, pricing, liquidity, orders, positions, and platform performance.
• Identify unusual activity, pricing discrepancies, market exposure, and operational risks.
• Support the creation, review, launch, suspension, and settlement of prediction markets.
• Verify event outcomes and ensure markets are resolved accurately and consistently.
• Investigate trade breaks, settlement issues, reconciliation differences, and customer-impacting incidents.
• Coordinate with engineering and product to diagnose and resolve platform issues.
• Partner with compliance to ensure markets and operational processes follow internal policies and applicable requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of market activity, decisions, incidents, and resolutions.
• Build reports and dashboards that improve visibility into trading activity, risk, and operational performance.
• Develop procedures, controls, escalation processes, and operational playbooks.
• Support cash, position, transaction, and settlement reconciliations.
• Respond quickly during major sporting events, market-moving news, and periods of high trading volume.
• Automate repetitive workflows and improve the scalability of trade operations.
• Communicate clearly with internal teams during incidents and high-priority market events.

• Have a genuine interest in prediction markets, trading, sports, financial technology, or crypto.

Even Better If You Have:

• Experience in trading operations, middle office, market operations, brokerage operations, risk, settlements, or financial operations.
• Worked at a sportsbook, exchange, market maker, broker-dealer, fintech company, crypto platform, or trading firm.
• Familiarity with orders, positions, exposure, liquidity, pricing, reconciliation, and settlement.
• Experience monitoring real-time systems or responding to operational incidents.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or data-visualization tools.
• Built operational controls, automated workflows, or internal tools.
• Knowledge of sports markets, event contracts, digital assets, or financial-market infrastructure.

Location:

• This role is based in our NoHo, Manhattan office, with core in-office days Tuesday through Thursday. The role may require additional coverage during major sporting events, market-moving news, and periods of high trading activity.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Onyx is unable to provide employment sponsorship for this position.

Compensation and Benefits:

• The anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,000–$120,000, depending on experience, impact, and scope.
