As a Senior Principal Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Trust & Safety , Payments Technology organization, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities 

  • Writes advanced level code in Java to build cutting edge high through put low latency engineering solutions
  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software  Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience building low latency, high throughput server side python based software solutions.Advanced in Java and related  programming languages
  • Experience with developing highly scalable, secure, and resilient applications utilizing Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA, Hibernate, Kubernetes, Docker, Swagger, and Skaffold
  • Excellent understanding of security standards, such as OAuth, TLS, JWT, Kerberos etc.
  • Good understanding of Domain Driven Design, microservices patterns, and modern/emerging architectures
  • Agile software development experience is a must
  • Proficiency with AIML Model development Familiarity with log/metric collection and monitoring technologies, such as ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, & Splunk is a plus
  • Proficiency with Python programming language
  • Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Experience with modern microservices architecture

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with even driven processing utilizing Kafka is a plus
  • Experience with Cassandra or equivalent no-SQL databases
  • Knowledge of API management
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Expertise with AWS services, such as S3, EKS, EC2, EMR Spark, AWS Glue, SageMaker, SQS, Lambda, Cloud Formation,  and Terraform is highly desirable
  • Experience with Flink stream processing is a big plus
