The Role
As a Platform Engineer, you will help build, operate, and improve the cloud platforms and infrastructure that support Wayve's software development and release systems.
Working as part of a team, you’ll focus on maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure cloud environments, while improving the systems that enable efficient software development, testing, and deployment. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to deepen your expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure (primarily Azure) to support development, testing, and production environments.
Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) implementations (e.g. Terraform, Ansible) to ensure consistent and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.
Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment systems running in cloud environments.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise cloud systems for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Assist in managing containerised workloads and orchestration platforms (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
Implement and maintain observability tools (logging, metrics, alerting) to ensure system health and rapid incident response.
Work with engineering teams to ensure infrastructure meets application requirements and supports scalable software delivery.
Help improve security, access control, and compliance within cloud environments.
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for infrastructure and deployment issues.
Continuously improve automation, reducing manual operations across infrastructure and deployment workflows.

2–5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or related engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible).
Familiarity with CI/CD systems and cloud-based deployment pipelines.
Basic understanding of networking, cloud architecture, and system reliability.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
Experience working with Linux systems and shell scripting.
Programming or scripting experience (e.g. Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
Exposure to large-scale or distributed systems

At Wayve, we’re building a global driving intelligence that learns from data and scales across different vehicles and geographies. Founded in 2017, we have pioneered an end-to-end AI approach to autonomous driving that is faster to deploy, more flexible by design and built to scale. We deliver all levels of autonomy, from hands-off and eyes-off driving, to robotaxis. We license and integrate the Wayve AI Driver as a vehicle-agnostic software platform that runs entirely on onboard vehicle compute and native sensors. Wayve is the first and only AV company to test a single global AI Driver model across more than 500 cities in Europe, North America and Japan. We’re building autonomy for anyone, in any vehicle, anywhere.
