Cobb EMC is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer III to help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our corporate enterprise network. In this critical role, you will implement proven technologies, maintain robust security standards, and strengthen the systems that keep our organization secure and resilient.Â

Responsibilities
What Youâll Do
Strengthen Our Enterprise Security Environment
- Install, maintain, and support high-quality enterprise security systems.
- Coordinate the installation and maintenance of network security software and hardware with peer teams.
- Diagnose network security, software, and hardware issues, then implement effective solutions and enhancements.
- Help develop, implement, and maintain a Security Operations Center.
- Work with service vendors to ensure equipment and software are properly serviced.
- Oversee the maintenance and inventory of network security systems.Â
Support Technology Planning and Investment
- Assist management with budgeting and purchasing security hardware and software.
- Research future security technology, software, and service needs.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and monthly budget variance processes.
- Help Information Technology leadership monitor activities for compliance with Cobb EMC cybersecurity policies.Â
Lead, Collaborate, and Share Your Expertise
- Coordinate the planning, design, and execution of network projects.
- Assist with security assessments and audits.
- Provide hands-on technical training to peer teams.
- Actively participate on the Security Operations Team.
- Contribute to the Security Education, Training, and Awareness Team.
- Serve as an active member of the Cyber Security Incident Response Team.
- Recommend relevant off-site technical training opportunities

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:Â
Bachelorâs Degree in Information Technology Security or other highly technical field.
Eight plus years of experience in Information Technology with six years of experience in Network Infrastructure and Security. Job responsibilities also require that the Security Engineer III be proficient in the installation and maintenance of Firewallâs. Remote Access systems, and Network Access Control systems.

SKILLS:
Knowledge of data loss prevention
Knowledge of hacking techniques
Knowledge of vulnerability management programs
Knowledge of virtual environments
Knowledge of scripting languages
Knowledge of project management concepts
Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills
Must be able to demonstrate creativity and out-of-box thinking in analyzing and delivering solutions.
Must be a self-starter able to work without close supervision and to think independently.
Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to appropriately handle confidential information
Ability to work off hours/shifts as needed/required

PREFERRED:
Previous utility experience
Experience with Network Performance Monitor/Network Detection and Response platforms, Multifactor authentication systems, Routing/Switching, Firewalls and Security Policy, network access control systems,
SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel and Google SecOps.
