About Harmon
Harmon is seeking a motivated Continuous Improvement Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn from experienced leaders, gain hands-on manufacturing experience, and participate in projects that drive operational excellence across our business.
Under the guidance of the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will support manufacturing teams in fostering a culture of Lean thinking and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, improved quality, enhanced safety, and waste reduction while gaining valuable real-world experience in process improvement methodologies.
What You'll Do
As a Continuous Improvement Intern, you will:
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Analyze operational data and assist with identifying opportunities to improve:
- Inventory control
- Product quality
- Throughput
- Material flow
- Productivity
- Ergonomics and workplace safety
- Participate in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
- Assist with process mapping, workflow analysis, and documentation.
- Support the implementation and tracking of improvement projects.
- Create reports, presentations, and visual tools to communicate project progress and results.
- Work alongside team members to drive positive operational change and continuous improvement efforts.

- Lead time reduction initiatives

- Fabrication capacity analysis

Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
- Industrial Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Supply Chain Management
- Operations Management
- Or a related field of study
- Junior or Senior standing preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
