Junior Industrial Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Junior Industrial Engineer (Fresh Graduate with Industrial Engineering Degree are welcome to apply) to support the optimization of manufacturing processes, material flow, factory layouts, and operational performance.

The role will apply Industrial Engineering, Lean, and data-driven problem-solving principles to improve safety, quality, productivity, material flow, space utilization, and cost efficiency.

This position is ideal for an early-career engineer who enjoys working closely with manufacturing operations, analyzing processes, solving practical problems, and developing solutions that improve how people, materials, equipment, and information flow through the factory.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Productivity Improvement

·       Conduct time studies, work measurement, cycle-time analysis, and process observations.

·       Identify process waste, bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and productivity improvement opportunities.

·       Support line balancing, manpower optimization, standard work, and productivity improvement activities.

·       Assist in establishing and maintaining operational performance standards.

Material Flow & Factory Layout

·       Analyze end-to-end material flow across warehouse, production, and supporting operations.

·       Develop process maps, spaghetti diagrams, material-flow analyses, and current/future-state layouts.

·       Support factory layout development to achieve safe, efficient, and lean flow of people, materials, and equipment.

·       Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary transportation, handling, waiting, WIP, and material movement.

·       Support space-utilization and storage-capacity studies.

Capacity & Operational Analysis

·       Support capacity analysis for production lines, equipment, labor, storage, and material-handling systems.

·       Analyze production demand, takt time, cycle time, utilization, and resource requirements.

·       Collect, validate, and analyze operational data to support engineering recommendations and business decisions.

Lean & Continuous Improvement

·       Apply Lean principles and tools including 5S, standard work, visual management, value-stream mapping, waste elimination, and Kaizen.

·       Participate in continuous-improvement projects and problem-solving activities.

·       Support root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective and improvement actions.

·       Track improvement actions and quantify operational benefits.

Safety & Ergonomics

·       Incorporate safety, ergonomics, and human-factor considerations into process and layout designs.

·       Support ergonomic assessments of workstations and material-handling activities.

·       Work with relevant stakeholders to identify and reduce operational and material-flow risks.

Engineering Documentation & Collaboration

·       Develop and maintain process maps, layouts, standard work, capacity models, engineering studies, and project documentation.

·       Prepare analysis, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

·       Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality, Facilities, Automation, and other Engineering functions.

·       Provide engineering support for new product, equipment, process, and factory improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

·       Fresh graduates or candidates with approximately 0–2 years of relevant manufacturing or industrial engineering experience are encouraged to apply.

·       Basic understanding of Industrial Engineering and Lean manufacturing principles.

·       Knowledge of time study, line balancing, capacity analysis, process mapping, and continuous improvement is preferred.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.

·       Experience with AutoCAD or other factory-layout/design tools is an advantage.

·       Exposure to Power BI, simulation tools, ERP/MES/WMS systems, automation, AMR/AGV, or smart-manufacturing technologies is beneficial.

·       Quantify improvements in productivity, space, material movement, labor, and operational efficiency

·       Build the technical foundation required to progress into an independent Industrial Engineer role
