The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join as an early engineering hire building and shipping production software across backend services and user interfaces. You will work closely with company leadership and early customers, making independent decisions and iterating quickly on AI-driven product features.
What you'll do
- Build backend services and APIs that support real-time, AI-driven product experiences.
- Develop automation capabilities that let software interact with other web applications.
- Partner with early customers to understand their needs and build solutions that feed back into the core product.
- Create workflows powered by large language models, including prompts, tool use and multi-step logic.
- Ship front-end features in React where needed and iterate quickly based on real usage.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Roughly 2 to 5 years of hands-on engineering work that has reached live production.
- Strong TypeScript or JavaScript skills, especially for server-side development with Node.js.
- Hands-on experience building applications with large language models or real-time systems.
- A strong sense of ownership: you spot problems, make calls and deliver without close direction.
- Living in the New York City area already, or ready to move there, since the job is worked from the office most of the week.
- Background at a high-growth startup, or at a large technology company alongside early-stage product building.
- Experience working directly with customers or design partners as an engineer.
Bonus points
- Experience with real-time technologies such as WebRTC, websockets or streaming.
- Background in sales technology or go-to-market tooling.
- Experience with browser automation or computer-use agents.
- Computer science degree, or equivalent demonstrated through strong shipped projects.
- Side projects or founder experience with real users or traction.

- Base salary: USD 150,000 to 230,000 per year
