The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the build of the core AI capabilities of a software product, partnering closely with the CEO. Blend backend and data work with hands-on product development, spending regular time with users to iterate fast and release to production.
What you'll do
- Shape the technical direction for data modeling, AI components and the underlying platform.
- Design and release autonomous, multi-step AI workflows that help users move complex transactions along faster.
- Create data pipelines, including location-based data processing, that bring in a variety of public and industry sources.
- Work side by side with the CEO, running quick iteration cycles with real users to find the right product fit.
- Set engineering standards for testing, peer review and monitoring as the team expands.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Up to 3 years of industry experience, or comparable capability from internships or early-career projects.
- Hands-on work with large language model applications, such as orchestration, retrieval and tool calling, using popular frameworks.
- Solid server-side development in Python and TypeScript, covering APIs, data workflows and secure coding practices.
- A record of taking new products from nothing to launch, ideally while working closely with the people who use them.
- Willingness to embed with users, build alongside them and adjust quickly based on their feedback.
Bonus points
- Experience creating evaluation suites for AI systems.
- Familiarity with electricity markets or energy economics.
- Curiosity about climate and clean energy topics.
